In Chile, the trademark application process involves four main stages:
-
Formal Examination – The application is reviewed for compliance with formal requirements, including classification, clarity, descriptiveness, distinctiveness, potential to deceive, and any conflicts with existing registrations. -
Publication – The application details are made public, including the trademark, applicant's name, country of incorporation, application number and date, goods/services, priority claim, and representation. -
Substantive Examination – Any objections or oppositions to the application are assessed. -
Registration – If the application successfully passes the examination and prosecution phases, the trademark is officially registered.
