What types of trademarks cannot be registered in Chile?

The following types of trademarks cannot be registered:

• Marks that go against moral standards or public order


• Generic terms


• Names, symbols, or flags of countries, states, or international organizations


• Marks that lack distinctiveness


• Common terms used in health, science, or technology


• Marks that are confusingly similar to a well-known mark


• Marks that mislead consumers about the type, source, or quality


• Colors by themselves
