What types of trademarks cannot be registered in Finland?

The following types of marks cannot be registered:

• Marks that go against moral standards and public policy


• Common words or generic terms


• Marks lacking distinctiveness


• Marks primarily used as a surname


• Marks featuring flags, names, or symbols of countries, regions, or international organizations


• Marks mainly representing geographic locations
