Applicants cannot register the following types of trademarks:
- Marks that go against Ireland's moral standards or public order
- Common words or terms with a broad meaning
- Marks featuring names, flags, or symbols of countries or international organizations without permission from the relevant authorities
- Marks that are not distinctive
- Marks that are primarily geographic names
- Marks that are prohibited in this jurisdiction
- Marks intended to mislead consumers or the public
- Marks applied for with dishonest intentions
