What types of trademarks cannot be registered in Latvia?

In Latvia, trademark law does not allow the registration of the following types of marks:

• Common or generic terms


• Marks without distinctiveness


• Marks that are purely functional


• Marks that are deceptive, misleading, or disparaging


• Marks that go against moral principles or public order


• Marks containing flags, names, or symbols of international organizations, states, regions, or nations
