In Belize, trademark law does not allow the registration of the following types of marks:
- Marks that go against public policy or moral standards
- Common or generic terms
- Marks lacking distinctiveness
- Marks primarily used as last names
- Marks primarily used as geographic names or indicators
- National symbols, flags, or emblems (including those of countries, regions, and international organizations)
