What types of trademarks cannot be registered in Belize?

In Belize, trademark law does not allow the registration of the following types of marks:

• Marks that go against public policy or moral standards


• Common or generic terms


• Marks lacking distinctiveness


• Marks primarily used as last names


• Marks primarily used as geographic names or indicators


• National symbols, flags, or emblems (including those of countries, regions, and international organizations)
